Being on the first 3 pages of Google and receiving all of that free traffic comes down to Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Now making sure that your site is SEO is somewhat overwhelming, I know. I used to be in that same place but it doesn’t have to be that way. It is actually very simple but it starts with some very specific principles.
Principle #1 – Time
Time plays a factor because Google and other search engines favor websites that trust. They will look at the time a site was indexed in its search engine, the time the domain was registered, and make the decision on whether or not to trust the site. But there is a way around this that I will share with you later in this article.
Principle # 2 – On Page Optimization
This is the actual content on your page. This can include keywords in our copy, meta tags, titles, alt titles (for pictures), etc. It is basically all the work that is on your page.
Search engines views how your content relates to the content users are searching. So it is very important to have relevant keywords (attached blog link) for your content.
Principal #3 – Backlinks
Backlinks are probably the most important thing that search engines look at today. A backlink is an incoming link coming into your website. For example, if my site links to your site that is a backlink for you.
This is important because (again) the search engines want trusted websites. So if you have multiple backlinks coming to your site from other trusted sites your site will, in turn, be trusted. It shows that you are important.
Creating a lot of backlinks on all of your content is the best way to get your content moving up in ranking.
Principal #4 – Fresh Content
Adding fresh content to your site tells the search engines that you are not just dead weight. It shows the search engines that there is activity on your website and you are always producing new content for users.
These are the areas in which you want to focus on to get your content ranked higher in Google.
Gaining Trust and Creating Backlinks
The most powerful ways to create trust and backlinks to boost your rankings with the search engines are through articles, press releases, social indexing, blogging, and forum posts.
Articles
Submitting articles to different directories is a very powerful way to create trust and a TON of links to your site (Not to mention, the rank well in the search engines).

Social Book marking
Social book marking is very simple as well. All you have to do is submit a post or a blurb to these sites so that it shows up in their database. Google spiders these sites regularly because of the constant update fresh content. This makes it easy to create a quick backlink and create more trust for your site.

Blogging
Blogging is my favorite. It is like my window to the world.
Blogs are great for creating backlinks as well as trust for search engine users and your prospects. It gives you the freedom to create the content of your choice in a laid back way.
You can also go to other blogs and post comments and all of sudden you have instant backlinks. You can start by commenting on this post.
Forum Posts
Forums are a great way to communicate with other people while have your link exposed to the world. Every time you post in a forum you will create a backlink to your site.
In order to create backlinks every time you post…be sure to create a signature file with a clickable html link that leads back to your site. The more you post the more links you have coming back to your site.
Do not spam the forum with your advertisements. I promise you that you will not receive the results that you are looking for or you will be banned. Make sure you are providing value to the community…stuff that will help people.
