Self doubt and lack of confidence is one of the biggest problems besetting people today.
With today’s economy, more and more people are becoming afraid of life because of a deep insecurity and lack of trust within themself. They are not trusting in their own abilities to succeed or create opportunities. What the don’t realize is that self doubt is hindering them from reaching their full potential.
When you are going through difficult situations your problems tend suck up alot of your energy while leaving you overwhelmed and discouraged.
But ATTITUDE is everything!
Your attitude towards something is way more important than the facts. See no matter how difficult that facts are it is not as important as your attitude towards it. In other words, your attitude determines whether or not you overcome or are defeated.
So you may be wondering, how (exactly) do I change my attitude towards the facts?
Here are a few simple steps you can follow that will change your whole outlook…
Step 1 – Write down all the facts that are for you and not against you. You may have to dig deep for this because when your mind is consumed with the things against you, you overlook the things for you. Here are some questions to get you started:
- Do you have family?
- Do you have shelter?
- Do you have a job?
- Do you think this country makes it possible to do anything and be successful?
Believe in yourself because dwelling on the factors against you will only make you feel like you can’t be successful, like you can’t overcome obstacles. But if you visualize, affirm, and reaffirm the good and stay focused on the positive factors you will be able to rise above ANY difficult situation.
Step 2 – Get some note cards. On these cards you are to write positive and uplifting quotes, scriptures, statements, etc. The place them around the house, in your car, any place that you see visually often. It can be on the refrigerator, the bathroom mirror, on the nightstand, by the computer, and so on. By reading these cards throughout the day, the qoutes become imbedded in your mind and make you a more positive and optismistic person.
Step 3 – When bad thoughts start to enter your mind make a point to verbally voice a positive thought to cancel it out. For example, if you are down and think that you can’t be successful shout out “I AM SUCCESSFUL!”, and do it as many times as you need.
Step 4 – Don’t get caught up in what other people are doing. So many times we want to be successful so bad that we think we have to copy someone to do it. WRONG! We can’t do things the way they do it because we are not them. Be yourself. Learn from the person you admire (that’s ok). But when you go to teach others, do it the way you choose too.
Step 5 – Picture yourself succeeding. Embed a mental picture in your head and never allow it to fade. You can never doubt the reality of this image, NEVER! Always picture “success” no matter how bad it may be at the moment.
Use these steps to build up your confidence. By filling your mind with thoughts of faith, confidence, and security you will force out all thoughts of doubt and lack of confidence.
Much Success,
Tasha
